THE PERSON
Designer by profession. Photographer by practice. Based in North Carolina.
THE WORK
I'm a nature photographer who finds abstraction inside documentary subjects. Black and white redirects attention from recognition to observation, revealing the geometry, texture, and formal complexity hidden in the natural world that most people walk past without stopping. I move between wide and close, landscape and macro, because the forest canopy and the lotus pad deserve equal attention. I try to give them both.
THE PRACTICE
Much of the work happens before everyone wakes up. I like the quiet and stillness of early mornings surrounded by nature. Getting close, staying quiet, and waiting for the light to do something worth recording, that is the practice in its simplest form.
